它又分高頻瓷介和低頻瓷介兩種。具有小的正電容溫度系數(shù)的電容器，用于高穩(wěn)定振蕩回路中，作為回路電容器及墊整電容器。低頻瓷介電容器限于在工作頻率較低的回路中作旁路或隔直流用，或?qū)Ψ€(wěn)定性和損耗要求不高的場合〈包括高頻在內(nèi)〉。這種電容器不宜使用在脈沖電路中，因為它們易于被脈沖電壓擊穿。
